Haleys Contribution:
Haleys were appointed to undertake the production of bills of quantities for the new Crossrail station at Whitechapel along with the associated shafts and tunnels. At the time of appointment the scheme was at RIBA Stage D. Based upon the current 2D design drawings Haleys constructed a 3D model. Using our 3D modelling process we produced bills of quantities based upon SMM7. Subsequently we were requested to value various engineering options. As the 3D model is dynamically linked to the requisite quantities we were able to quantify each option quickly. Then through the use of our extensive cost database we valued the changes.
In October 2010 the design for RIBA Stage E was released to us. We amended the existing RIBA D 3D model to reflect the consolidated design and issued the associated bill of quantities (and report) within 4 weeks.
