Haleys originated in 1989 as a partnership between Steve Haley and David Somerset. Originally known as Haley Somerset Consulting the practice was based in Kenley and predominantly offered Quantity Surveying services. In 1994 Project Management, Building Surveying, Construction Law and Building Services Engineering departments were developed to create a multidisciplinary organisation.

The rapid growth of the practice lead to the formation of a Limited Company, Haley Somerset Consulting (HSC), in July 1995.

HSC moved headquarters in April 1995 to our present head office in Purley, Surrey. Further offices were opened in Nottingham (1999), London (2001), Leeds (2003) , Birmingham (2004) and Milton Keynes ( 2008) which enabled Haleys to offer a UK-wide service with local delivery.
Following the departure of David Somerset in 2004 the company was renamed as Haleys Ltd in July 2005. Haleys continues to be an expanding company and currently has around 120 employees.
The company was recently restructured into two groups:

Construction Services Group encompassing Project Management, Building Surveying, Health and Safety Consultancy, M&E Building Services Design, Communications & IT Consultancy and Planning Supervision Services
Engineering Cost Management Group encompassing Quantity Surveying specialising in M&E Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Procurement Advice, Contracts and Legal Services

We are corporate members of the Association for Project Management (APM) and the British Quality Foundation (BQF), an accredited Exor Consultant, a member of Constructionline, corporate members of BSRIA and are committed to driving forward best value and continuous end user improvement.

The Haleys group is bound together by the principles of the Business Excellence Model which benchmarks continuous improvement in a measurable demonstrative way. These nine core values (beliefs) are the basis upon which Haleys delivers and drives forward a bespoke end user, customer-focused matrix of services enabling clients to tailor-make services for particular projects.
